Hague Construction were engaged by Churchill Retirement living for the construction of a purpose built lodge situated in Orpington, Kent.
The project commenced with the demolition of three existing dwellings, site clearance and reduce level excavation.
Foundations included the installation of a large reinforced concrete crane base followed by a series of mass concrete strip foundations.
A Kingpost type retaining wall with bespoke concrete infill panels was installed to form the boundary with the neighbouring property and to support the ‘secret garden’ to the rear of the site.
Foul water and storm water drainage systems were completed to service the building with the storm water design requiring the need for onsite attenuation and hydrobrake chamber and a 20m drain run with a 6m deep backdrop MH chamber within the public highway.
External works included flag paving, permeable block paving to the access roadway & parking area, plus new entrance crossover and re-instatement of redundant dropped kerbs, working under licence from Bromley Council.
