Located along a quite country lane in the Kent country side, this unique project threw up some interesting challenges.
Hague construction has worked with a number of Local Authorities as part of their maintenance and repair programmes looking after the many structures that the councils are responsible for.
This project involved the repair of a failing existing road bridge over the River Beult to bring it up to date with the latest highway standards
The existing bridge deck was broken out before the main structure was lifted clear. Specialist lifting techniques were required due to an existing protected tree preventing crane access.
The ornate cast iron parapets were taken away for specialist repair and refurbishment whilst the bridge foundations were constructed.
Once the repairs had been completed, the parapets were re-installed and new steel beams placed to strengthen the new deck.
A reinforced concrete bridge deck was then placed before the re-alignment of the new carriageway was completed
