Overview
The job involved the provision of three 4 storey student accommodation blocks for the University of Sussex.
Hague Construction and Hague R.C. Structures offered the perfect solution to our client carrying out the groundworks, sub-structure and superstructure frame as a single source accountability package.
Space for the development was at a premium and a detail was designed to enable the upper storeys to overhang and thereby maintain a footpath at ground floor level adjacent to the road.
We also undertook a significant cut excavation into the existing chalk bank and formed insitu reinforced concrete retaining walls in order to provide sufficient site area for the buildings
